We humans are fairly simple beings, really. Stimulus leads to response. Though, I suppose the response can get rather complicated…

My response, when I see you?

Joy. Joy at knowing that such a wonderful person as you exists in this world. Joy that I get to know that person. Absolutely unbounded joy in the knowledge that, even though I will never, ever understand why, that person feels the same about me.

I love you, my star. You are wonderful. You bring so much joy to my life, and I will forever appreciate it.
