Our Thing (and stuff)

Well, I truly didn't expect we'd be able to do “our thing” while yet another stretch of our route is closed for construction, and yet! I suppose technically I don't know that was you, it could have been that one imposter, lol. Though the timing was just about right, plus it felt like you… and yes, I know that makes no sense, but it's still true. And it also occurs to me that you may not have seen me at all… after all, we've never seen each other around there before, not least because I'd never jogged over there before. Plus I was wearing some dorky new sunglasses you might not recognize, lol. Well. Let's see how many times we can pull that off before they finish whatever it is they're doing this time. It's a poor substitute for actually seeing you, but you know I enjoy it anyways. It always puts a smile on my face, especially when I luck out and actually see you waving my way…

You know, when you requested that song, you sent me down a rabbit hole listening to those guys. I hadn't really listened to them very much in a looong time… And one of the songs, my gosh… I remember it, but it never used to move me like it does now… Man, that chorus. Wow. Some of the most romantic lyrics I've ever heard, and from a 90s alternative rock band. Who woulda guessed? Anyways, I thought about doing that song for you, too, as a sort of bonus… but holy schnikes… my fingers ain't that fast, lol. Well, one day, maybe.
