Dream Journal

May 10, 2024

I'll go ahead and preface: you weren't in this one. Booooooo.

I waited too late to journal this one, most of the details have already slipped away. But, I remember this part vividly.

It seems I'm being interrogated about something. The interrogator seems friendly enough. Nothing about them seemed like a police officer, but I'll refer to them as “cop”. It felt like things were wrapping up…

Cop: Welp, I guess that's about it… oh, wait, there is just one more thing… Tell us about… Tiffany.

So, this part is very weird because I don't know anybody named Tiffany, nor do I think I ever really have, but in the dream I knew immediately what he was talking about…

Me: Tiffany was my fictional daughter that I used to write a blog about. It was sort of an art project, exploring grief. She died at a very young age.

(side note: wtf, brain?!)

Cop: Mmm hmm. That's what you tell everyone, isn't it? Well. We think that she was real.

Me: Hah, I assure you she was not. I have never had a daughter, nor have a lost a child.

Cop (passing a photo across the table): Then who is the child in your arms in this photo?

Me: My niece.

Cop: Which one?

Me: What is this about? Tiffany isn't real.

…and on and on for a few minutes, before I woke up.

As weird as the dream was, the weirdest part was, for several minutes after I woke up, I remembered having written a blog about a daughter named Tiffany who passed away suddenly as a baby… except that definitely never happened. Not the blog, not the event, none of it.

So. That was weird. Lol.
