TV Guide

Mar 7, 2025

Remember the TV Guide? I don’t think we ever had a subscription, but I seem to remember one sitting on the coffee table every now and then, for a few weeks at a time. I’d sift through it, looking for something interesting, but really… once you found a show you liked, you just knew what channel it was on, what time slot it belonged to…

Sometimes, though, you’d stumble onto something new. A show you never realized was there before, tucked away in a quieter slot, running its own storylines in the background. And maybe you’d sit down one night, start watching, and realize it’s exactly the kind of thing you love… something thoughtful, tender, maybe even poetic. Challenging, sometimes, in the best possible way.

But then just as you're starting to think… hmmm… maybe this show is for me… maybe I can work in watching it alongside my favorite… it disappears. Leaving you wondering if you imagined it, or if maybe you just weren't paying attention when you should have.

Well. I'm perfectly content having found the show I did. Happy, even. Ecstatic. It's even better than I could have ever imagined. If it's the only show I ever get to watch, then I'll be happy as a clam.

But if those actors ever feel like reprising their roles… Well. You surely won't hear me complaining about it. Or, heck, maybe even a cross-over. I could see how some poetry could slip into that other program… nobody would even bat an eye.

Just one of the dumb things that happens in this brain of mine, babe. Hope you're having the loveliest of days!

Yours.

PS — Speaking of time slots… I absolutely adore hearing you when you’re in your element. Even if I get all quiet, even if I wish I had been the one to ask a question that got you going…

Just listening to you geek out? That. That is my favorite show in the world.

Yours (still!).
